[DhtmlXQ_comment0]“赵匡胤赌棋输华山”是流传于民间最广的象棋故事。当时任后周节度使的赵匡胤，一年到关西处理公务，途径华山脚下，听说当地有个叫陈稀夷（陈抟）的老人，是位象棋高手，便请陈与之对弈，并立下契约，以西岳华山为赌注。赵言必胜，负则愿将华山归陈。二人当即在树林中摆开棋局，对杀起来，结果赵匡胤一和一负。第一盘赵先走，他大刀阔斧，全力进攻，不时走出好棋。战至残局，赵匡胤剩下车马炮；而陈稀夷仅剩下一车。赵逐渐占了上风，以为必胜，岂知陈稀夷突出妙手，竟走出“单车孤帅战和车马炮”的妙局（陈执红棋，赵为黑方）。
